At Evangelical, we know how important the comfort and experience of others can be in helping people make positive changes in their health, manage chronic conditions and diseases, or deal with a painful loss. That’s why we offer numerous support groups for those in our community. Our support groups include:

Bariatric Support Group

Our Bariatric Support Group is for those interested in learning more about the Bariatric Surgery program at Evangelical and their families as well as current and former patients and their families. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 6 pm. For meeting locations or more information, please call 570-523-3290. See a list of upcoming events

Empty Arms

Our Empty Arms support group is for those who have experienced the loss of a baby. Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 7 pm in the Wood-Mode conference rooms on the Hospital’s Lower Level. To register, please call 570-522-2378. See a list of upcoming events 

Life After Loss

The Life After Loss support group is for anyone over the age of 18 who is coping with the loss of a loved one. For the greatest level of healing, it is important to attend all six sessions. It is recommended that your loss be six months or longer. The cost is $20, scholarships are available. Pre-registration is requested. Please call Andrea Runkle, MSW, at 570-522-2157.
