Evangelical Community Hospital Names New Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer

LEWISBURG – Evangelical Community Hospital has named Allen Fasnacht, DNP, MSN, RN, CENP, as the organization’s Vice President of Patient Care Services, Chief Nursing Officer effective June 2024.

As Chief Nursing Officer, Dr. Fasnacht serves as the chief expert for the Hospital regarding nursing practice and operations. Dr. Fasnacht will focus on patient care, patient satisfaction, direction and support of nursing staff, quality improvement initiatives, patient care services, and optimizing operations related to the delivery of safe and efficient clinical care. He has responsibility for the oversight of nursing education, inpatient nursing, hospice, the emergency department, and surgical services.

“Allen’s professional presence, active listening, and ability to engage with leaders, providers, and staff complement his nursing and leadership experience, particularly in larger health systems. His data-driven approach to collaborative problem solving will guide the Hospital to best serve the community in the future,” said William Anderson, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Evangelical Community Hospital.

Dr. Fasnacht brings to the Hospital nearly 30 years of nursing experience serving in community hospitals to highly matrixed healthcare systems. He began his career in Pennsylvania serving at hospitals in Hershey, Lancaster, York, and Philadelphia. In most recent years, he has held nursing leadership positions in the western United States.

Dr. Fasnacht comes to Evangelical from his most recent position as Associate Chief Nursing Officer at University of Louisville Health-Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

He earned his Diploma of Nursing from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, Lancaster, and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing from Immaculata College, Philadelphia; Master of Science Degree in nursing from Drexel University, Philadelphia; and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice-Executive Leadership Degree from George Washington University, Washington, D.C.

Dr. Fasnacht assumes the role of Vice President of Patient Care Services, Chief Nursing Officer, as Tamara Persing, RN, BSN, MS, CIC, FAPIC, who has served in the role for the last seven years and previously gave two decades of service at Evangelical as a Registered Nurse, Pre-Admission Care Coordinator, and Infection Control Practitioner, retires in July.
