Gerard Cush, MD, Named Medical Director for SUN Orthopaedics of Evangelical

Gerard Cush, MD, has been named Medical Director for SUN Orthopaedics of Evangelical. He is fulfilling this directorship in addition to his role as an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle conditions at the practice.

As Medical Director, Dr. Cush is responsible for the oversight of operations at SUN Orthopaedics of Evangelical. In this leadership role, he ensures the practice adheres to guidelines that provides clinical excellence for patients seeking care and treatment of orthopaedic conditions and works for continued growth of the orthopaedic program and offerings.

SUN Orthopaedics of Evangelical has five practice locations throughout the region. Its expert team includes board-certified orthopaedic surgeons, backed by skilled physician assistants, patient navigators, nurses, and other care team members to provide a comprehensive approach to orthopaedic issues, injuries, and conditions. By working together and combining their expertise patients have access care that gives patients relief from pain, restored motion, and better overall health.

Dr. Cush joined SUN Orthopaedics in September 2022, and with his arrival, the practice was able to add the orthopaedic specialty of foot and ankle to its already excellent orthopaedic offerings.

Dr. Cush completed his Fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wisc.; his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville; his internship at Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia; and his medical education at Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia.

He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, AO North American foot and ankle faculty, Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society, American Orthopaedic Association, and American Orthopaedic Society of 3D Printing.

Along with his formal education and professional memberships, Dr. Cush has held physician leadership positions including Chief of Foot and Ankle Surgery and Central Platform Medical Director of Orthopaedics at an area healthcare system.
