Justine Young, Certified Environmental Services Technician
On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, Justine Young, Certified Environmental Services Technician, was presented with the Hive Award.
The Hive Award is given to an employee who supports clinical and nursing teams. These individuals lift-up employees in various ways to ensure the organization can provide extraordinary care through helping fellow employees to flourish in their work. These employees serve as a model for putting the team and Hospital first.
Phoebe Trego, Unit Assistant, Critical Care Unit, wrote in her nomination, “Justine takes the time to get to know our patients when she goes to clean their rooms every shift. She will chat with the patient(s), she listens as the patient tells their story as to how/why they got admitted, what’s going on in their lives, the stress or sadness they might feel, etc.”
Trego continued, “If we need assistance in grabbing supplies for a room, she’s always there to help her coworkers with whatever she can. Justine is a smiling face that makes our day and we look forward to spending our long shifts with her. Justine is what Evangelical Community Hospital stands for—excellence every day.”
Young was surprised with the award presentation in front of members of her EVS team, Hospital leadership, the award committee, and other departments.
Young was hired in December 2020 as an Environmental Services Technician. She put forth the effort to take the internal certification course in June 2021 and earned the title Certified Environmental Services Technician and has served diligently in that role since.
