Evangelical Community Hospital Receives Hip and Knee Replacement Program Certification from DNV

Evangelical Community Hospital has been recognized as a DNV certified Hip and Knee Replacement Center. The Hospital’s hip and knee replacement program is made possible through the collaborative efforts of SUN Orthopaedics of Evangelical, Surgical Services, the inpatient Center for Orthopaedics team, and Rehabilitation Services of Evangelical.

“This certification is a huge accomplishment and speaks to the quality of care that we provide our patients,” said Kendra Aucker, President and CEO of Evangelical. “Not only does it represent excellent patient outcomes and low complication rates, but it also signifies the exceptional level of care our Hospital provides for those undergoing hip and knee joint replacement.”

The DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program Certification, based on standards set forth by and considering the guidelines of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, recognizes program excellence in patient care and outcomes.

DNV certification as a Hip and Knee Replacement Center validates the Hospital’s excellence across the spectrum of hip and knee replacement care, from diagnosis to treatment, rehabilitation, education, and outcomes.

“This certification validates that Evangelical has the resources and commitment to provide the best possible care for hip and knee replacement—not only while under our direct care but through needed support and education so patients can recover at home safely for the greatest success,” said Candi Taylor, RN, BSN, CRRN, ONC, Director of Nursing of Evangelical’s Center for Orthopaedics Inpatient Program.

Continued Taylor, “It’s a combination of the right equipment, personnel, and training to exhibit excellence in orthopaedic surgery within the scope of hip and knee replacement and related procedures. Our program is patient-centered and has a well-educated staff who understand the details of caring for elective hip and knee joint replacement patients.”

“Achieving certification shows commitment to excellence,” says Patrick Horine, CEO of DNV Healthcare USA, Inc. “It helps demonstrate to your community that you are performing at the highest level.”
